Stablemoney is India's premier digital financial platform offering FD investments with up to 9.25% returns. The primary goal of the app is to make investments easier, faster and more transparent in more stable financial entities like Fixed deposits, Bonds etc
I joined Stable Money as a founding designer to set up the foundation for the app experience and the brand. I co-led the design of the app interface and experience design to make the most seamless and delightful Fixed Deposit Investment platform.
Me and my co-lead designer, Dharam also took charge of brand tone, design, campaign strategy and setting brand foundations for scale.
Our primary aim was to make discovery and booking of Fixed deposit as intuitive and easy as possible. Visually, we kept the design simple yet unique. While we extended purple and neon as accent colors, the core foundation and UI components remained clean and light. We focused more on copy and readability to build a trustworthy relationship with the user to help them invest comfortably.
We streamlined the discovery and exploration of fixed deposits with smart, informative widgets. Transparency was key, as we clearly outlined the necessary steps and benefits to ensure financial stability.
BUSINESS CONTEXT
After securing funding, Stablemoney was in an important early growth stage when we joined.
It was important that we highlight and make commonly unknown insights about FD investment clear to the user. This was made easy by partnerships with NBFC’s who were eager to onboard new & quality users.
Our strategic choices considered both the user interface and business needs, allowing us to create an adaptable design that enabled rapid product development.
It was this type of approach that helped us do 3.5b$ in volume of investment within the first 90 days of launch.
As with any 0 to 1 startup, experiments & campaigns run all the time so the design needed to be exhaustive and template based to ship in the lowest TAT and design involvement. Hence the design was made with scalability in mind. The elements are designed in a way that can be reorder/modified from backend which reduces design dependency while still ensuring top of the line design quality and also have a quick learning curve for newly onboarded designers.
After identifying and dissecting the anxiety-inducing points in traditional investment flows, we addressed them through design. We focused on highlighting wins and prominently displaying essential information to enhance user confidence and clarity.
We developed a cohesive and modular design system for all mediums—app, web, and social media collaterals—to ensure the brand resonates powerfully with the target audience and at scale. From informative videos to multi lingual campaigns, we ensured ease of understanding and consistency over everything.
Stable Money went from concept to launch in 7 months. It was an incredibly rewarding journey, collaborating with amazing individuals to bring this vision to life. Our launch at the Four Seasons, Worli, Mumbai in September 2023 was a huge success, marking the start of an exciting journey for the org. I also had the privilege of establishing the early design culture at Stable Money mentoring junior designers, and equipping them to deliver their best work.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
As a founding member shaping consumer experience under the founder's guidance, I strategized extensively to drive business growth. Leveraging three years of industry learning, I executed solutions for long-term revenue and scaling. A huge thanks to Saurabh Jain ( Co-Founder, Stable money ) for trusting me and giving design a seat at the table since day 1.
